There is a very easy way for people to continue to believe that Bush is wise and misunderstood.

You will note that the main street media did not exactly dwell on the lying part of this story, and that the whole story is now off the front pages. The media has moved on.

There are a thousand things that this White House has done over the last 8 years that if a Democrat had done, the media would still be incessantly beating the drums on. They haven't done so on this president because our corporate media wants Bush's ideology to persist. But they also know they cannot ignore the infamy of this administration, so they just serve tidbits and move on. But when a Democrat does it, or anything remotely adverse, it gets played and played.

So expect to hear about Rev Wright 8000 times before the next election, but expect the lies that got us into the wrong war to get mentioned 15 times tops between now and November.

Our media is so good, they even have large segments of our population thinking that our media is liberal, and Faux News is fair and balanced.

You're right about historians having to sort this out. I still know people who think that history will prove that GWB was a wise leader and misunderstood. I don't know how anybody can honestly believe that now.
